Why do all vacations must come to an end? Can't there be an endless vacation? So we got back from the warmth to come freezing cold! :( There had been a huge snow storm the day before and so we came to find a ton of snow! I really hate winters in Utah! So a lot has happened this month with the house! We decided to put up a wall and a proper door downstairs instead of the ugly sliding door that didn't lock properly with the ugly green wooden door keeping the light from coming in! Jon's cousin Mark came over to do the wall and install the door! I think Jon is learning rather quickly how to do a lot of house repairs! He has acquired a few more tools along the way to do random jobs around the house. It's kind of sad that I have been to Lowes' and home depot way too many times this past month that I'm already familiar where things are located throughout the store! I think we should just end up getting a credit card with them! Our basement flooded as well! We still don't know what exactly caused the flood, but it happened through one of the two bathrooms downstairs and it continued unto the kitchen and down the hallway! :( Gratefully the h0me insurance covered the expenses to have the repairs made, it still wasn't fun having to deal with it for about 2 weeks! I had to find people to come redo the flooring in both the kitchen and bathroom (we decided to put in tile instead of the ugly vinyl flooring that it had), the carpet down the hallway and we got a little crazy and tore up all of the ugly paneling in the living room as well and decided to just put a nice texture to the walls... This took us an entire week of running around like crazy trying to find people to come do the work and also cleaning up/painting walls and cleaning up the entire mess! endless hours were spent in between classes and work! In the end it looks way nicer now! :) finally is over!!!
This month we celebrated Jon's birthday! He turned a quarter of century old! We decided to throw him a party at the house! (the first party since we moved into the house back in November). We decided to have a sumo-wrestling theme to the party since he loves wrestling! Rachel made an awesome looking sumo cake! I decided to be a bit adventurous and made him a sumo pinata! It was fun making it, even though in the end i think it ended up looking more oval rather than circular, maybe the next one will turn out better! :) We had a blast with having everyone over. It was a pretty good turnout! Thanks to everyone that came to the party! His birthday landed on a Monday so we decided to do the party the Friday night before his birthday! Jon took the day off from work and even school for his actual birthday! We went out to Tucano's and ate lots and lots of food! We then headed over to the Museum of Art at BYU to go see the Carl Bloch exhibit! It was really amazing! If you still haven't gone and you are in the area you should go before it ends this May!
